Heaton Park 2022

Our last residency of the year brought us back to our spiritual home - Heaton Park in North Manchester. Two weeks of performances for several schools and public audiences from the surrounding areas of Prestwich, Salford, Whitefield, Cheetham Hill and beyond…

Bolton School 2022

Finally out of an enforced hibernation and our re-staged production is back, this time in the glorious grounds of Bolton School with new artworks, a gorgeous dome interior (it really is a nest, inside and out!) and two new cast members - a folk singing barn owl and a breakdancing raven.

National Trust: Dunham Massey 2019

Final appearances of the year were in the beautiful grounds of Dunham Massey. Quite a year for our flock of birds in their new nest - looking forward to charming on in 2020!

Brockhole - Lakes Alive Festival 2019

The premiere of The Lost Words: Told In Gold, the new incarnation of our production - and what a setting! Our enormous goldfinch nest theatre space nestled by the woods on the banks of Lake Windermere. Glorious.

Folk By The Oak 2019

Folk By The Oak commissioned Spell Songs - so it was a real treat to perform Seek Find Speak for the last time, then listen to the album performed live in front of a huge audience. Now onwards, with Told In Gold!

Barnes Children’s Literature Festival 2019

First festival of 2019 - stunning venue, great event, and the audiences were lovely. Roll on the rest of 2019!

Just So Festival 2018

Wild Rumpus's family friendly festival in the beautiful Enchanted Forest of Rode Hall - the perfect setting for our goldfinches to conjure back The Lost Words.

Hulme Community Garden Centre 2018

The goldfinches performed in this quiet oasis at the heart of Manchester city centre - the sun shone (yet again) on their last appearance of the year.

TIMBER Festival 2018

"The Lost Words: Seek Find Speak" premiered at TIMBER Festival on July 6th 2018. Three days, five goldfinches, ten performances, thirty degree heat, hundreds of spells conjured.

Latitude Festival 2018

No sooner had we returned from TIMBER, it was straight off to the amazing Latitude Festival, where the goldfinches charmed under the boughs of a magical horse chestnut tree.

The Power Of Words Festival 2018

Normanby Hall provided a spectacular backdrop to Robert Macfarlane’s spells and Jackie Morris’s illustrations brought to life.
